Letter #1 – Dad’s snoring has gotten bad…

teh snore scares meHi Nate:

I hope your bus ride up to camp was pleasant, and I am sure you are settling into camp well.  Please let us know how you are doing.

It is late, and I will be going to bed soon.  But I wanted to make sure to send something out before I headed off to bed.

By the way, Dad’s snoring has gotten bad.  I mean really bad.  I’ve been using my ear plugs, but his snoring is so loud that it almost doesn’t matter whether or not I use them!  Not only has the snoring gotten louder, but his snores have this weird rhythm to them, almost like the snore is playing the drums or doing a tap dance . . . but that’s impossible, of course.

I really don’t know what to do.  I’ve tried to wake up Dad to get him to stop, but he just rolls over and keeps on snoring.  Honestly, I don’t know if I’m ever going to get a good night’s sleep again.  Oh, what I would give for that snore to just get up and go.  But that’s not going to happen, I mean your Dad has this snore, and that’s just that.  Maybe I can find some sort of super industrial strength ear plug?    In the meantime, I’m headed to bed.  Maybe if I fall asleep before your Dad, I’ll be sleeping so deeply that I won’t hear the snore . . . although the other night that snore did wake me up from the loveliest dream.

Oh well, I hope you have a good night’s rest.  At least one of us should.  I will write more tomorrow.  Maybe I’ll come up with some clever idea of how to deal with Dad’s snoring. And if you think of any good ideas, let me know.

Love and kisses,

Mom
